Benfica vs. Auckland City Picks & Bets
Today’s slate will begin with an early matchup between Benfica and Auckland City in Group C.
Benfica tied Boca Juniors 2-2 in the first game of the FIFA Club World Cup. They were down 2-0 only 28 minutes into the game. Benefica were even down a man by halftime after a red card. However, Boca Juniors were also given a red card later in the game, which opened up the field with 10-on-10 play, allowing Benfica the chance at a comeback behind Angel Di Maria and Nicolas Otamendi.
On the other hand, Auckland City lost to Bayern Munich 10-0. After a 10-goal loss, we won’t see Auckland City make the next round. They had only five shots in total and just two on goal against Bayern Munich last time out. Meanwhile, Benfica has averaged 2.8 goals while conceding 1.3 goals per game in their previous 15 matches. They’ve scored at least one goal in all of those games.
You’d like to think Auckland City will have some guts and courage to at least keep this game within distance. Benfica should win, but I’ll grab Auckland City +5.5 (-160). This will be a little more competitive. It’s unlikely we’ll see multiple blowouts in the group stage. The Tournament has been competitive overall.

Flamengo vs. Chelsea Picks & Bets
Flamengo and Chelsea picked up wins in their first games of the FIFA Club World Cup. Chelsea took care of LAFC 2-0, while Flamengo added a 2-0 victory over Esperance Sportive de Tunis.
This game will effectively help determine the winner of Group D. Expect hot conditions and frequent player rotations due to the conditions. Chelsea will likely have five substitutions. They’ll play more tactically, rather than being overly aggressive.
Conversely, look for Flamengo to try and earn possession for an extended amount of time. Both teams possess a lot of discipline on defense and will look to find gaps to capitalize on.
The under 2.5 goals is where I’ll be going with this game.

LAFC vs. Esperance Sportive de Tunis Picks & Bets
LAFC and Esperance Sportive de Tunis both lost in their first games of the tournament. Therefore, if either team wants to stay in contention, winning this game is super important.
Esperance Sportive de Tunis dominates against African teams. However, when it comes to playing global opponents, they’re not nearly as good. LAFC will surely be more comfortable playing in the United States. They’ll be able to dominate possession and play at their pace behind Denis Bouanga, who has been very good for the club this year.
While this game is likely to get chippy, I like LAFC to find a way to win at +110 odds in the three-way market. The MLS is about to show out for the second straight day.

Bayern Munich vs. Boca Juniors Picks & Bets
Boca Juniors won’t have Ander Herrera and Nicolas Figal, who are both suspended after receiving red cards in the last matchup. Additionally, Marco Pellegrino is out due to an injury. The defense will need to stay tight against Bayern Munich, but at some point, I expect them to crack.
At the end of the day, Boca Juniors has won just two out of its last six matches. They’ve also scored only six goals in their last six matches. It’ll be super hard to score against Bayern Munich, who defeated Auckland 10-0 in their first game. Bayern Munich proved it’s capable of winning the entire tournament, and they likely won’t let up against Boca Juniors. After all, Bayern has earned five clean sheets in their last six games.
I’ll roll with Bayern Munich against the spread at -1.5 (-125).
