Team USA vs. Spain

Team USA has been rolling since their poor performance against Italy, winning back-to-back games by at least 40 points. Each win was driven by phenomenal first-quarter scoring. Team USA is averaging 32.5 points through the first 10 minutes of play over the last two games.

The two first-quarter totals are also way too low for how impressive Team USA has been over the last two games. Jackie Young has been an absolute force on the first unit and has proven to be the catalyst for scoring to start the game. Team USA has been pushing the pace non-stop early on, and when the second wave hits about six minutes into the quarter, the pace intensifies considerably.

The goal is in sight. It's hard to imagine Team USA not putting their best effort forward immediately to take command of the contest. Spain has been no stranger to scoring in the first quarter as well, averaging 23.7 points over the initial 10 minutes of gameplay. Spain has failed to score 20+ first-quarter points just once this tournament.

Picks: Team USA 24+ First-Quarter Points (+100) & Over 39.5 Combined First-Quarter Points (-120)

France vs. Germany

Oddsmakers are heavily favoring a low-scoring contest between two teams averaging over 90 points through the previous two games. Everything about this tournament says this game will more than likely be a shootout. Yet, the line is set as if it will be a closely contested game between two evenly matched teams. That is not the case by any means, and it's hard to wrap our heads around.

The 145.5 line is more in tune with a -3.5 spread, not -12.5. You can play this a few ways. Germany's team total is entirely too low given their recent performances. We think the safest course of action is to take the combined score and the team total for a France squad that has averaged almost 100 points per game.

France has not scored fewer than 80 points in any contest to date. Both teams are playing at a tremendously high level right now. Germany has played in three consecutive games in which the total points exceeded 145.5.

Picks: Over 145.5 Points (-115) & France Team Total Over 79.5 Points (-115)
