2026 Preakness Stakes Predictions: Talkin
- Post Position: 5
- Odds: 20-1
Talkin has the pedigree as the son of Good Magic out of Role by Tiznow, but with a career record of 5: 1-1-1 he hasn't really lived up to his ancestors. He has run four graded races since his maiden special weight victory last August has finished no better than second, losing to names along the way that didn't factor at the Derby like Further Ado. He also lost to a familiar face, finishing second to fellow Preakness entrant Napoleon Solo in last October's Champagne Stakes. Coming off a third place showing in the Blue Grass Stakes on April 4, best to leave Talkin in your exotics, if used at all. Talkin's best attribute may be his jockey, Irad Ortiz Jr. who came in second at the Derby on Renegade, although despite his career success, his only Triple Crown victory is at the Belmont (2016, 2022). Ortiz had a career record of 7: 0-2-0 in the Preakness Stakes.
