2026 Preakness Stakes Predictions: Napoleon Solo

Napoleon Solo put the racing world on notice last year when he made his debut at Saratoga (August 8, 2025) and won. He followed it up a few weeks later with an impressive 6 1/2 length win at Aqueduct (October 4, 2025). However, he has not been as fortunate in 2026, placing fifth at Gulfstream Park (February 28) and fifth again last month (April 4) at Aqueduct for the 2026 Wood Memorial. He is trained by Chad Summers, and Paco Lopez is his jockey; both are experienced but do not have a Preakness Stakes win on their respective resumes. He has shown a lot of promise, which is likely why he has decent odds, but the two fifth-place finishes this season are enough to scare me off at that price (no value).
