NFL Player Props, Picks & Predictions: Bengals vs. Ravens

Bengals vs. Ravens Preview & Picks

This game hinges on Lamar Jackson. If he plays, I expect a high-scoring game; if he doesn’t, it will be low-scoring. The FantasyPros “Are They Playing Tool” leans toward his third missed game (35% chance to play).

On the early number, I liked the Bengals plus the points. Cincinnati is coming off a bye, Joe Burrow is back at quarterback and Joe Burrow-Lamar Jackson games are always close. I also didn’t like what I saw from Baltimore in Cleveland: A classic Ravens collapse with Tyler Huntley at quarterback, including a Derrick Henry fumble and a defensive pass interference call.

If the line flips and Baltimore becomes a home divisional underdog, I would buy that back.

Home teams in the AFC North (especially when they are the underdogs) are the side you typically want to be betting on. The home team has covered in the last four AFC North matchups. Baltimore is also dramatically overdue for a home cover, and it would be the perfect alignment if they do so as divisional home underdogs as the lines settle before Sunday’s kickoff.

Calling my shot here: I think Jackson won’t play, but the Ravens cover the point spread at home. I’d imagine they get three points.

If you’re reading this now and Jackson’s status is still ‘up in the air,’ I’d hammer the Bengals Moneyline and reap the closing line value (CLV).

My longshot first touchdown bet in Week 7: Matthew Hibner (+5500).

The rookie tight end ranks in the top-15 in snaps inside the 10-yard line. He missed last week’s game with a hand injury but is practicing in full this week. He already scored this season (played 50% or more of the snaps in Weeks 3-4).

Interestingly, Cincinnati hasn’t allowed a touchdown to a tight end yet this season, but they are allowing the second-most yards per game to the position. Eventually, the regression will kick in, and it seems fitting that it would happen on National Tight Ends Day.

    Props

    • Matthew Hibner First Touchdown Scorer (+5500)

Best NFL Same Game Parlay for Bengals vs. Ravens

Here is our top NFL same game parlay for Bengals vs. Ravens. And you can view all of our Week 7 NFL same game parlays.

          • Leg 1: Derrick Henry Over 19.5 Rushing Attempts (-106)
          • Leg 2: Ja'Marr Chase 80+ Receiving Yards (-131)
          • Leg 3: Mike Gesicki Under 2.5 Receptions (-124)

Lamar Jackson is trending towards returning for Baltimore. The star quarterback is still questionable, but limited practices this week point towards him suiting up. The Ravens would likely want to ease Jackson back in, especially when it comes to him running the ball. So, expect a heavy workload for Derrick Henry as the offense leans on him.

The Bengals are allowing 5.0 yards per carry this season, the third-highest mark in the NFL. Teams have been able to run against this defense, and the Ravens can be next. Don't expect Jackson to be involved in that rushing attack much as he returns from his ankle injury. Even if he does sit again, Henry should be the focal point with Tyler Huntley under center. Henry has 20+ carries in four of six games and should get back there after attempting 17 rushes last week.

On the Bengals' side, look for a big game from Ja'Marr Chase. He's usually crushed it in this rivalry. In 10 career regular-season games vs. Baltimore, Chase is averaging 120.4 receiving yards per game. He only has one game with 80+ yards this season, but this week presents a prime opportunity to do it again. The Ravens are allowing the sixth-most receiving yards per game to wideouts this year.

Conversely, don't expect much from Mike Gesicki. The Ravens are allowing the second-fewest receptions per game to tight ends, at 3.8 per contest. They're also allowing a league-low 5.3 targets per game to the position. Gesicki has been boom-or-bust this season. He has three games with 40+ yards and two with fewer than 10 yards. Let's count on a dud this week, at least in the receptions.

What is an NFL player prop bet?

An NFL player prop bet is a type of wager where you’re betting on the performance of a specific player in a game rather than the overall outcome. For example, you might place a bet on how many passing yards a quarterback will throw for, or how many touchdowns a running back will score. It’s a fun way to get more invested in the action, especially if you’re confident in how a particular player will perform, regardless of who wins or loses the game. It’s like focusing on one slice of the pie instead of the whole thing.
