NC State Wolfpack vs. No. 11 Virginia Cavaliers

NC State knows it got spanked when it faced the Cavaliers earlier in the season (76-61). But they'll be coming into this game with a load of confidence after defeating in-state rival North Carolina by a score of 82-58. It's a noteworthy victory, despite the Tar Heels being ravaged by injuries.

As for Virginia, the Cavaliers have won eight in a row since losing 85-80 to North Carolina on January 24th. They last played on Saturday when they hosted and beat Miami 86-83.

I'm a little surprised that the spread is so small. NC State is a solid squad, but Virginia has already dominated them on the road and faces them at home this time, where they are 13-1. The Wolfpack have been a good road team (6-2). But I do not think they can bring the same kind of defensive pressure that frustrated UNC in this game.

Virginia is too efficient on offense and experienced in tight games. This game will not be a blowout like the last one, but Virginia will cover.

Pick: Virginia -5.5 (-110)

Cincinnati Bearcats vs. No. 16 Texas Tech Red Raiders

Texas Tech may be catching Cincinnati at a bad time, fresh off a beatdown versus Kansas, which will have the Bearcats extremely confident. Cincinnati has the fourth-best defense in the conference. If they come out hot and keep Texas Tech from heating up on the perimeter, this game will get interesting.

The Red Raiders are still getting over the loss of JT Toppin for the season. They looked great in their first game without him, beating Kansas State 100-72. But the Wildcats are not a competitive team this season. Cincinnati doesn't have a great record, but it has won its last four. The Bearcats will be eager to prove their big win over Kansas was no fluke.

I'm still curious to see how Texas Tech plays without Toppin, and I think we'll learn something about the Red Raiders in this game. However, even without him, I think the Red Raiders will handle a lackluster Cincinnati offense and cover.

Pick: Texas Tech -6.5 (-108)

No. 23 Saint Louis Billikens vs. Dayton Flyers

Saint Louis bounced back well from their first loss of the season with an 88-75 win over VCU last Friday. Dayton has recovered from a four-game losing streak that included a 102-71 beatdown versus Saint Louis on the road, with wins in four of their last five games.

The Flyers have been a solid home team this season, going 13-2, but the Billikens have been a great road team (7-1). With the game being at home, I'd expect a better performance from the Flyers, but not so good that they'll be competitive with a team that beat them by 31 points a couple of weeks ago.

Considering how bad Saint Louis just beat Dayton a couple of weeks ago, this spread should be higher. The Billikens will absolutely cover.

Pick: Saint Louis -3.5 (-112)
