College Football Week 3: PrizePicks Player Predictions (2024)
This Season: 8-7-0
DJ Giddens More Than 98.5 Rushing Yards
Of the four games Kansas State and Arizona have played, the Kansas State game against Tulane in Week 2 is the one that gives us the most information. The Wildcats very nearly lost that game, but scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns to secure the win. The Green Wave has a better defense than Arizona, so Kansas State should get well over 400 total yards in this game.
We think most of those yards will come from Giddens. He ran the ball 19 times for 114 yards against the Green Wave. In Week 1, Arizona allowed 130 rushing yards to Devon Dampier as they ultimately gave up 210 yards to the New Mexico Lobos. Kansas State will win this game, and Giddens will top 100 yards for the third time this season.
Noah Fifita More Than 260.5 Passing Yards
Kansas State allowed Tulane quarterback Darian Mensah to throw for 342 yards against them. This is a secondary that has problems. In a game they should be leading, they're going to be tested nonstop by Noah Fifita.
Fifita threw for 422 yards in Week 1 but followed it up with just 173 yards last week against Northern Arizona. That was a worrying performance, but we still trust Fifita because of what he did last season. He threw for over 300 yards in five of his nine games, including a 527-yard performance against Arizona State. Trailing in this game, Fifita will throw the ball over 40 times and hit this more than.
Cameron Skattebo Less Than 101.5 Rushing Yards
Cameron Skattebo exploded for 262 rushing yards in Week 2 against the Mississippi State Bulldogs. He averaged 7.9 yards per carry, accounting for more than half of the Sun Devils' total yards. This number is set very low this week, against a less public opponent, which is part of the reason why we think the less than is such a good play.
Skattebo only ran the ball 11 times for 49 yards in Week 1. Last season, he ran for more than 100 yards just three times, and his season-high was 121. The Bobcats saw the quarterback play of Sam Leavitt over the first two weeks, and they're surely going to sell out to stop the run and try to make the freshman beat them through the air. That will take carries from Skattebo, who ends this game in the 70s or 80s for rushing yards.
