Conversely, Nevada has looked motivated, winning and covering comfortably in their first two NIT games. Looking at Auburn’s poor defensive metrics (especially against the three-point shot) and poor ATS record down the stretch, Matt takes a position on the Point Spread, backing the underdog.
Dayton vs. Illinois State: Matt breaks down the extremely low total set for this game. While acknowledging Dayton’s historical tendency toward unders, he notes their recent NIT games have featured much higher totals and more offense. Expecting Dayton to play with a faster tempo than the market suggests in a strong tournament environment, Matt anticipates both teams could reach the 70s. He takes a position on the Game Total Over.

Major League Baseball (Opening Day):

Yankees at Giants: Celebrating Opening Day, Matt previews the standalone night game in San Francisco. He points out that early in the season, pitchers are typically ahead of hitters, and San Francisco’s ballpark traditionally suppresses offense. With two strong starting pitchers on the mound (Max Fried and Logan Webb) who have excellent track records at limiting runs, he expects a low-scoring pitcher’s duel, perhaps a 4-2 or 4-3 type of game. He takes a position on the Game Total Under.

NBA (Hard Rock Bet of the Day):

Celtics vs. Thunder: In what he calls the game of the day across all sports, Matt analyzes the marquee matchup between Boston and Oklahoma City. He highlights Boston’s recent struggles against OKC (0-2 this season, 2-8 in their last 10) but emphasizes that Boston rested key players in their last meeting. Expecting a rocking, playoff-like atmosphere in Boston and a highly motivated Celtics team looking to make a statement, he jumps at the rare opportunity to back Boston as a home underdog. He takes a position on the Point Spread, backing the home team.
