New York Liberty at Los Angeles Sparks
No team in the WNBA has been as hot as the Los Angeles Sparks. They've been 10-4 both SU and ATS which has catapulted them from 5-12 SU to right in the postseason conversation. On Tuesday they'll take on a Liberty team that just has not been the same since Breanna Stewart went out with an injury, going 0-7-1 ATS.
A big reason that the Sparks have turned things around is their elite offense. They shoot 46.1% from the field which is bested only by the Minnesota Lynx juggernaut. They shoot well from both two-point and three-point territories. However, New York has a strong defense and they've really turned things around after some poor performances defensively when Stewart initially left the lineup. They've allowed just 78.4 PPG in the month of August and that has led for five straight Unders.
The Sparks have been scorching hot offensively and that is likely the reason that the total has ballooned up as high as it has. However, the Liberty have found their rhythm again on defense and should be able to keep this team in check. I'll be watching for a low scoring affair that will have big implications on the postseason race.
