MLB Home Run Prop Bet Odds & Picks

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Christian Yelich (Game 2) (+750

Let's pick it up in the Windy City, where the red-hot Brewers (79-45) are playing a five-game midweek series against the Cubs (70-54). They'll play a doubleheader today, and this prop bet is for Game 2 of the twin bill. The pitching matchup for Game 2 features Brandon Woodruff taking on Jameson Taillon. First pitch is scheduled for 8:05 p.m. ET from Wrigley Field in Chicago, IL.

Chicago's Jameson Taillon has been inconsistent this season, but ultimately enters the new week at 7-6 with a 4.44 ERA and a 1.11 WHIP. He has been prone to giving up the long ball, as his HR/9 rate is 2.08. That's the second-highest mark among today's starting pitchers. Taillon has allowed six bombs in his last two starts, including giving up a pair of home runs to the Brewers during that stretch.

I'll ride with Christian Yelich at +750. Yeli has been on a tear this month, hitting .333 with five home runs in 63 at-bats. He's up to 25 tanks on the year, which is 17th in the Majors. The left-handed slugger is also 12-for-35 (.343) against Taillon with two home runs and a double. Give me Yelich to deposit one into the bleachers tonight.

Freddie Freeman (+230

The Rockies (36-89) logged their fourth straight victory last night, toppling the first-place Dodgers (71-54) in a 4-3 affair. The divisional foes are back at it tonight, and we have a pitching matchup between Emmet Sheehan and Austin Gomber. First pitch is slated for 8:40 p.m. ET from Coors Field in Denver, CO.

I was originally looking to ride with Shohei Ohtani in this game against the Rockies, but the superstar is priced at just +100 to go yard. I can't get around to pulling the trigger at such low odds. It's not like a +230 payout on Freddie Freeman is much better, but at least it's in the realm of where a home run prop bet should be priced.

Freeman has been hot recently, blasting five home runs in his last 17 games. He's hitting .301 (eighth) with 15 blasts (95th) on the season. He has seen Colorado's Austin Gomber well, going 6-for-16 (.375) against him with a pair of nukes and a double. Gomber (6.75) owns a 2.30 HR/9 rate this season, which is the worst among today's listed starting pitchers.

Jose Ramirez (+475

Tonight's MLB nightcap comes in the Valley of the Sun, where the Guardians (64-60) and Diamondbacks (60-66) go toe-to-toe. Tanner Bibee gets the nod for Cleveland, while Arizona counters with Eduardo Rodriguez. This interleague showdown is set for 9:40 p.m. ET from Chase Field in Phoenix, AZ.

E-Rod's tenure in Phoenix has been a failed venture for the D-Backs. The southpaw is just 5-7 this season with a 5.40 ERA, and this follows his debut campaign with the Snakes where he posted a 5.04 ERA. Rodriguez has a 1.64 HR/9 rate this season.

Jose Ramirez is very familiar with Rodriguez due to each of them spending time in the American League Central. J-Ram is 7-for-27 (.259) against him with three home runs. He has 25 bombs in 2025, which is tied for 17th with the aforementioned Christian Yelich. Factor in that Arizona owns the fourth-worst bullpen (4.87 ERA), and I'd say that Ramirez is a prime candidate to go deep tonight.
