(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Luke Raley (+420)
We gave Luke Raley a shot last night, and he didn’t come through. But he’s got another terrific matchup on the horizon tonight.
Raley has a .270 ISO and a wOBA of .392 against his last 70 righties faced. The lefty has launched 30.2% of fly balls, 48.8% of hard contact and an 18.6% barrel rate against righties.
It’s unclear whether Chris Bassitt will start outright or come in for the bulk of the work. But it’s likely Bassitt will pitch most of this game for the Orioles. He’s allowed a .238 ISO and a wOBA of .345 to his last 69 lefties.
Let’s ride with Raley.
Alec Bohm (+610)
Alec Bohm has been red-hot (analytically) against left-handed pitchers over the last 30 days. He’s hit a .452 ISO and a wOBA of .445 with only 15.2% of strikeouts against lefties over the last month. Plus, he’s also hit nearly 35% of fly balls and an 11.5% barrel rate against lefties over the last 30 days.
The results haven’t been as good. He has a batting average on balls in play (BABIP) of .227 against lefties during that stretch. But things should turn around pretty soon. There’s no better pitcher to face than Patrick Corbin.
Corbin is a lefty who has allowed his last 82 righties to hit a .240 ISO and a wOBA of .378. Corbin has also allowed more than 53% of hard contact and has a 15.8% strikeout rate with only 37.1% of ground balls induced.
Bohm has a real shot to hit one over the fence tonight.
LaMonte Wade (+680)
LaMonte Wade doesn’t have a ton of plate appearances against righties over the last 30 days. But he’s got a track record over the years. When Wade is hot at the plate, he’s really difficult to get out.
Wade has a .375 ISO and a wOBA of .365 against his last eight righties. He’s also hit 40% of fly balls and a 20% barrel rate against righties during that small stretch.
Tonight, Wade will battle Grayson Rodriguez of the Angels, who has allowed a .356 ISO and a wOBA of .494 to his last 51 lefties. Rodriguez has given up a .406 BABIP to lefties and over 61% of hard contact.
Wade has plenty of potential as a lefty against Rodriguez.
