Brooks Lee (+750)
Brooks Lee is batting second for the Twins. He has a .351 ISO and a wOBA of .403 against righties over the last month. The switch-hitting Lee will bat left-handed against Jackson Jobe of the Tigers today. Lee has hit 38.9% of fly balls with 51.9% of hard contact against righties over the last month.
Jobe has struggled against lefties over the last month since he returned from injury, allowing a .205 ISO and a wOBA of .342 to his first 52 lefties faced this season. He’s also given up a 14.3% barrel rate and has allowed over 54% of hard contact with 28.6% of fly balls.
You can’t go wrong with Brooks Lee at +750.
Jake Burger (+420)
Jake Burger has two home runs in his last five games. Additionally, he has a .343 ISO and a wOBA of .455 against his last 38 lefties as a right-handed slugger. Plus, Burger has hit 32.1% of fly balls and a team-best 17.9% barrel rate to go along with 60.7% of hard contact against lefties in the last month.
Burger is set to face lefty Gage Jump of the Athletics, who has allowed a .165 ISO and a wOBA of .344 to his last 90 righties. Jump has also allowed 26.3% of fly balls to his last 90 righties.
Texas figures to have plenty of righties in the lineup. Nobody looks better than Burger tonight.
Zac Veen (+1000)
Zac Veen has hit a .269 ISO and a wOBA of .388 against his last 30 righties, yet he’s +1000 to hit a home run tonight. He’s smashed nearly 43% of fly balls during that time and has a 14.3% barrel rate with 57.1% of hard contact. Those numbers look elite, despite his 40% strikeout rate.
Veen faces Kyle Bradish of the Orioles, who has allowed a .222 ISO and a wOBA of .422 to his last 70 lefties. Those lefties have a batting average on balls in play (BABIP) of .404 and have added 32% of fly balls with only 18.6% of strikeouts.
I’ll gladly back Veen, even if he’s hitting eighth tonight. He’s got great numbers against righties since being called up.
