Houston Astros vs. Arizona Diamondbacks

Justin Verlander vs. Merrill Kelly

Both of these teams are still trying to lock down a playoff berth. Houston aims for the A.L. West Division Title, while Arizona seeks to secure a Wild Card spot.

With two of their better-starting pitchers on the mound, we should see a few scoreless innings to start.

Merrill Kelly has been excellent at home, going 5-4 with a 2.70 ERA while striking out 101 batters. Opponents are batting a lousy .182. He hasn’t allowed more than one earned run in his last four starts.

Since joining the Astros, Justin Verlander has been just as good on the road. Over his last five road starts, he is 4-1 with a 2.25 ERA.

With big playoff implications for both teams, look for each starting pitcher to be locked in early.

Miami Marlins vs. Pittsburgh Pirates

JT Chargois vs. Quinn Priester

For this YRFI, we are headed to the Steel City and betting on the Marlins to get it done for us.

If the Marlins can win today, they will secure a playoff spot for just the second time since 2003.

Miami has had back-to-back games where they came from behind to take the lead and win. Let’s see if they can jump to a quick lead against Quinn Priester and the Pirates.

This is a good matchup for the Marlins, with Quinn Priester owning a 5.42 SIERA and a 6.86 xERA. The Rookie has allowed a first-inning run in two of his last three starts and has a 2.22 HR/9, the highest among today’s starters.
