The Mariners are starting to play better in May as they are on a quest to earn another postseason spot. This division could be more competitive than it has been over the last few years, so it's something to pay attention to this season.

Julio Rodriguez is the team's franchise player, and they showed that by signing him to a long extension. He's underwhelmed to start the season but has turned it on the last few games, posting multiple hits in five straight. The Mariners will begin a set with the Yankees and look for J-Rod to make his mark in this one.
