The 2026 MLB season has been nothing short of thrilling as the trade deadline approaches. Veteran sluggers blasting off, skilled rookies becoming household names and elite pitchers prevailing on the mound. The fun continues on Sunday with all 30 teams in action. Chase Burns Over 6.5 Strikeouts (-124)
No squad has tallied more strikeouts than Pittsburgh (1,050). It’s not tough to understand why. The Pirates sport the highest whiff rate (27.5%) and sixth-highest chase rate (31.2%) in the National League.
Pitchers are more willing to attack the zone when facing a lineup that is showcasing those struggles. The above-average strikeout rates of everyday bats like Brandon Lowe (27.1%) and Bryan Reynolds (24.0%) don’t help, either.
Cincinnati’s Chase Burns is set up to dominate Pittsburgh on Sunday. The young flamethrower has registered elite chase rates (34.1%) and whiff rates (31.7%) during his 20 starts this campaign.
Batters have been confused left and right, as Burns has racked up at least seven strikeouts 13 times. That includes three performances of seven or more strikeouts versus the Pirates. Trust Burns to stay in control.
Sandy Alcantara Over 18.5 Outs Recorded (+117)
Sandy Alcantara is a workhorse. The Miami right-hander has recorded at least 21 outs in four of his previous five starts. He didn’t even surpass the 100-pitch mark in two of those performances.
Alcantara has never been afraid to pepper the strike zone, which allows him to last deep into games. He has logged the third-most innings among MLB arms since the beginning of the 2025 campaign (318.1).
Sunday’s clash with the Mets gives Alcantara a chance to excel. New York is a bottom-10 offense in walks (355), stolen bases (56) and runs scored (457). Keep in mind that the Mets have also posted the league’s third-lowest on-base percentage at home (.309).
The Mets are failing to put opposing pitchers in uncomfortable situations. Alcantara has yet to face New York in 2026, but he pitched into the seventh inning in both starts against the division rival in 2025. Trust him to succeed.
Yordan Alvarez to Hit a Home Run (+220)
What a season it has been for Houston’s Yordan Alvarez. The American League MVP candidate leads the Majors with 35 home runs and a .641 slugging rate. The power is undeniable.
Alvarez checks in as a top-10 pro in barrel rate (18.5%), average exit velocity (94.7 miles per hour) and launch angle sweet-spot rate (41.9%). Take note that he is even more dangerous at Daikin Park, boasting a staggering 1.222 OPS across 55 games.
Texas’ Kumar Rocker will toe the rubber. He is ranked outside of the top 250 MLB arms in hard-hit rate (42.1%). The former Vanderbilt standout has battled the Astros twice in his career, surrendering at least four earned runs in each outing.
More importantly, Alvarez smashed a homer versus Rocker in both contests. Expect him to make it three for three. Anyone in search of additional bang for their buck could back Alvarez to go yard twice at +1900 odds.
