This Season: 115-101
Trea Turner has faced Diamondbacks' starter Joe Mantiply four times in his career. He has three hits with one RBI. He has yet to record an extra-base hit against Mantiply, but based on how he's been hitting this postseason, he could hit this prop in various ways.
Turner is coming off his worst game of the postseason. He was just 1-4 with a strikeout last night. However, in the five games before last night, Turner had gone over 1.5 total bases in each game. Turner has hit safely in every postseason game, giving him a floor of one for this prop. With a good matchup, we see no reason to stop backing the hot bat.
Tonight, Jordan Montgomery will face the Astros for the second time in this series. In Game 1, he went 6.1 innings, allowed just five hits, and gave up zero earned runs. He also struck out six batters. The Astros' bats have come to life in the last two games, but we still like Montgomery to go over four strikeouts tonight.
Montgomery has struck out at least five in two of his three postseason starts. If you go back to the regular season, Montgomery has pitched at least 6.0 innings in six of his last seven starts. He has faced the Astros twice this season and has struck out six batters in both games. The advantage may go to the hitters tonight, but we expect him to stay in the game for at least 5.0 innings, even if he gives up some runs. That'd be enough to hit this over.
After solid series against the Milwaukee Brewers and the Los Angeles Dodgers, Corbin Carroll's bat has gone ice cold against the Phillies. He's just 1-11 this series and has yet to score a run or record an extra-base hit. Tonight, he will face Cristopher Sanchez, a pitcher making his first appearance since Sept. 30.
Carroll may have more success tonight against Sanchez than he has had against any other Phillies pitcher, but it's still a long way to go for him to hit this over. He's not much of a home run hitter. He only has 27 in the regular season and postseason combined. So he's not likely to hit this over with one swing. He will need multiple hits, something he hasn't accomplished yet in this series.
