The 2024 MLB season is quickly approaching, with spring training underway for teams across the country. Those itching to get in on the sports betting action do not have to wait until Opening Day, though. The futures market presents player props for fans to track all summer long.

Consistency is the basis of this PrizePicks entry. Philadelphia’s Aaron Nola has made 175 starts since the beginning of the 2018 season, which is more than any other MLB hurler. His ability to stay healthy has helped him toss at least 202 strikeouts in each of the last five full campaigns.

Nola is fresh off signing a $172-million contract to remain with manager Rob Thomson’s squad. It gives him reason to lock in from the get-go. The 30-year-old finished the 2023 season striking out over a quarter of the batters he faced despite an uptick in his ERA. Nola can be trusted to get the job done.
Gunnar Henderson wasted no time living up to expectations as a rookie. The Alabama native slashed .255/.325/.489 and walloped 28 home runs on his way to being named American League Rookie of the Year. A hard-hit percentage of 52.0% had Henderson ranked 14th among MLB hitters, too.

It’s evident that when Henderson makes contact, he doesn’t waste a swing. That will come in handy given the distance to the right field pole at Camden Yards (318 feet), which checks in well below the MLB average. Henderson finds himself in a great spot to keep launching the ball over the fence.
Things have taken a negative turn for Vladimir Guerrero Jr. since his American League MVP runner-up finish in 2021. The Blue Jays’ slugger has seen his home run total, slugging percentage, average exit velocity, and hard-hit percentage drop over the last two seasons.
Keep in mind Guerrero only posted 10 home runs across his 79 home games played in 2023. It’s a number that torched his chances of touching even the 30-home run benchmark. This line seems high as one slump at the plate or injury absence likely derails Guerrero’s goal to bounce back.
No one has ever doubted Mike Trout’s talent as an elite hitter. It’s the rest of the Angels lineup that makes backing the under the way to go on his MLB PrizePicks RBI mark. The Angels failed to re-sign Shohei Ohtani in the offseason and saw Anthony Rendon declare baseball “has never been a top priority.”
It leaves Trout with Luis Rengifo and Taylor Ward, who were the only two players on the 2023 roster to produce an on-base percentage higher than the league average (.320). That does not inspire confidence. Trout has failed to tally at least 95 RBI or play in at least 120 games in five of his last seven seasons.
The hustle of C.J. Abrams was one of the lone highlights of the 2023 season for the Washington Nationals. The young speedster set a franchise record with 47 stolen bases thanks in part to increased base sizes and new pickoff rules. Abrams returns aiming to replicate that success as the everyday leadoff man.

It makes this line jump out right away. Abrams’ 37th stolen base came before the calendar turned to September last year. He has a knack for avoiding tags and building large secondary leads. Abrams owns the right skill set to cruise past this line, considering he is still improving as a 23-year-old at the plate.
