Friday’s Best MLB PrizePicks Player Predictions
This Season: 35-39
Rodriguez's total bases were not available at the time of writing, but we really like his hitter score in this one. Back on May 21, his batting average was .204. Since then, he has gotten red hot, and his batting average has shot all the way up to .246. He has recorded multiple hits in eight of his last 10 games, and he has seven extra-base hits during that span.

Since then, he has gotten red hot, and his batting average has shot all the way up to .246. He has recorded multiple hits in eight of his last 10 games, and he has seven extra-base hits during that span.
The reason we like his hitter score is that it also gives him credit for RBIs, runs, and walks. While Rodriguez almost never walks, he does drive in a lot of runs, and he has scored his fair share this season. Even if Rodriguez gets just one hit tonight, he should be able to clear this total which is not as high as it should be.
Ohtani will take the mound for the second time this season against the Houston Astros. In his first outing against the team, he went 7.0 innings, gave up three earned runs, and struck out seven.
It is interesting that his strikeout total for this game is higher than what he actually produced in the first meeting considering how little the Astros strikeout. They're 24th in the league in strikeouts, and though Ohtani has thrown nine or more strikeouts in his last two games, those performances came against two of the more strikeout-prone teams in the league.
Martinez has fantastic numbers against Yankees' starter Luis Severino. In 20 at-bats, Martinez has recorded eight hits, including two doubles. He has struck out seven times against Severino, but a .400 lifetime batting average against a pitcher gives us a lot of confidence in his ability tonight.
In addition to success against Severino, Martinez is on a 15-game hitting streak. He has four multi-hit games during that stretch, including a four-hit performance against the Atlanta Braves back on May 22nd. A hot bat and a favorable matchup make this a really good play, especially since all we need is a single.
