Major League Baseball had its Luka Doncic version of a trade last night, with Rafael Devers dealt to San Francisco. He will play his former employer later this week. The start of the week might not be as illustrious as that trade, but at least we have seven games today.
Here are three of my favorite MLB player predictions via PrizePicks for Monday, June 16th.

Sandy Alcantara is coming off two solid starts… against the Rockies and the Pirates. Before those outings, Alcantara cleared this number in nine straight games, allowing four or more earned runs in eight of those starts.
The Phillies’ lineup isn’t as treacherous with Bryce Harper on the shelf, but they still pack a punch far greater than Alcantara’s last two opponents. The Phillies’ active roster is well acquainted with what he brings to the table and has a .334 xwOBA across 234 plate appearances against Alcantara. Expect the Marlins pitcher to revert to the pumpkin he has been all season.
This is Logan Gilbert’s first start off the injured list (IL), but I’m willing to take a shot, even if he is somewhat limited. Gilbert hurled 70 pitches in his final rehab tune-up, so a pitch count of around 80-85 pitches seems in the cards for tonight.
Gilbert faces the Rafael Devers-less Red Sox, who are third in strikeout rate (24.6%) against righties across the past 30 days. Before getting hurt, Gilbert was posting career-best strikeout and whiff numbers, ranking in the 100th percentile in strikeout rate, SwStr% and CSW% among starting pitchers.
Finally back on the mound after three years, it’s good to have Lance McCullers back. He is the same as he always was, throwing plenty of walks and punchouts. McCullers has turned that on in his last four starts, racking up eight, 12, seven and six strikeouts.
That 12-strikeout outing came against the A’s, whom he faces today in Sacramento. They have the fifth-highest strikeout rate against righties over the past 30 days.
