Overall record: 62-43-4
Well, folks, we've made it to the last day of September and also the last Saturday of the MLB regular season. Our last time out was another Sunday of success, as we bounced back with a 3-0 to close out last weekend. To recap, Kutter Crawford and Michael Wacha both nailed the overs on their props, and Josh Rojas of Seattle failed to reach base once. As always, we will go for a 4-0 showing on the front end of this weekend’s finale. Here we go.

Saturday’s Best PrizePicks Player Predictions
Unless Vegas knows something we don't, I cannot fathom why one of the greatest pitchers in baseball history has such a low strikeout prop total heading into today's matchup. The Astros have struggled across the month of September and would surely like to have their ace in his best form heading into the postseason. I don't see any reason the team would limit Verlander's innings or shorten his outing on Saturday evening.

I don't see any reason the team would limit Verlander's innings or shorten his outing on Saturday evening.
Houston is favored on Saturday night, and Verlander has been dominant in the overall pitching and strikeout departments, per usual, all season long. He is coming off of an impressive eight-inning, eight-punchout performance against Seattle, and he's been averaging nearly six strikeouts per game over his last five. I'm happy to hammer the over on this low total, even against Arizona on Saturday.
Flipping the script here, we have the Arizona Diamondbacks, who are in must-win territory over their final two games in order to hold onto their Wild Card spot. Similar to Houston, Arizona will have one of their top pitchers on the hill on Saturday, again with a strikeout prop line that is flat-out too low.
Merrill Kelly has eclipsed 4.5 strikeouts in his last five straight outings, a stretch in which he has averaged seven per game, a number even higher than his opponent Verlander. The Diamondbacks simply need a strong performance from Kelly on Saturday, and we can expect him to empty the tank in this one. A true revelation for Arizona across 2023, Kelly has posted career-best marks with a 3.38 ERA and 182:67 K:BB ratio across 170 2/3 innings pitched. And tonight will be his most important showing yet.
As a true lifelong Red Sox Stan that has had the utter misfortune of watching Bobby Dalbec play baseball, I didn't even have to check any underlying stats prior to smashing the under on this Total Base prop. Dalbec is flat-out bad at the sport, and he is only playing for Boston right now because of how down the franchise is.
Across his handful of at-bats in 2023, Dalbec has gone 10-for-45 (.222) with the Red Sox, and he is 1-for-16 over his past five games played. On Saturday, Boston will face SP Kyle Gibson of the Orioles, who has surprisingly been no pushover across the campaign. As it stands, Dalbec is currently not projected to be in the starting lineup, but that could change prior to game time. If PrizePicks wants to offer a total baseline on him, I'm happy to jump on the under now while available.
Rookie sensation Evan Carter has cooled off a bit since his impressive debut in the majors, but Saturday will present an opportunity to bounce back prior to the playoffs commencing next week. Tonight will no doubt be a tough matchup against Seattle's Luis Castillo, but Carter possesses exceptional hitting tools.
Carter is the type of player I won't hesitate to hit the over on if he ever has a prop line of less than one. He has the hitting profile of a guy who will be an MLB staple for years to come, and no slump will hold him back excessively. One total base in an important Saturday matchup that could have immense playoff implications seems more than reasonable.
