Lesson learned...again. I vow to be done with the Mets forever. Alright, maybe not forever but for the foreseeable future. They're 100% on the s@%* list going forward. Of course, Kodai Senga had one of his best games of the season when I conveniently decided to tout his under. Much of the same can be said for Corbin Carroll, who let me down greatly yesterday, deciding to go hitless for the first time in four games, and for just the third time over his last 15 games. At least we had Bobby Miller to save us from another shameful 0-3 Saturday. Here's to trying to bounce back once again today.
Overall record: 15-16-2

If you're thinking this pick is based on the raging Elly hype-train right now, you would be correct. I am hugely in (and have been) on De La Cruz, and his numbers since the call up last week have been nothing short of stellar. The 21-year-old has exceeded his hitter fantasy score line in four of his first five outings, and he has quickly become the electric cleanup bat for Cincinnati.
The rookie facing a man 20 years older than him in a declining state leads me to believe we could see some more fireworks from De La Cruz on Sunday. Adam Wainwright has posted a measly 5.97 ERA across six appearances in 2023, and he has already allowed 45 hits on the year. De La Cruz already looks like a hitter beyond his years, and that ridiculous exit velocity of his could be fully on display in today's afternoon showing. Just be weary of the chance of rain in St. Louis on Sunday, which could affect the game as of this morning.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, Giancarlo Stanton has struggled since returning from the IL on June 1st. He has gone just 3-for-18 (.167) in that span while striking out six times and has not eclipsed his projected hitter fantasy score once in the past five games.
For the Red Sox, 24-year-old Brayan Bello has been getting better of late. He will certainly be tested in his second career affair against the Yankees, and it remains to be seen if he will be up to the task. Nonetheless, Bello has lasted at least six innings pitched in three of his last five outings, and he's managed to compile a 27:10 K:BB ratio during that timeframe.
For a man that heavily relies on his power for fantasy production, Stanton does not look like he'll be breaking out on Sunday. I'm betting on the slump to continue, especially given the intense rivalry games between Boston and New York. Each of the first two games of the series have been close and low scoring so far, and that trend may very well continue.
May as well make it a trifecta on Hitter Fantasy Score props today, as there are plenty that are standing out on the slate. Yes, the Padres/Rockies game is in Coors on Sunday, but I still feel as though Charlie Blackmon's line is too high here.
Blackmon has been in a massive slump since June kicked off, and he is batting just .156 with one single extra-base hit across seven games played. His slugging percentage for the month sits at an atrocious .188 and his last multi-hit game came back on May 28th.
Blackmon and company will be facing Blake Snell on Sunday. For Chuck Nasty's part, he has hit much better against righties than lefties in 2023. The 36-year-old holds just a .231 average with two total XBHs against southpaws this season. Blake Snell is coming off of back-to-back exceptional shutout performances and will be rolling into Coors on Sunday looking for his second straight victory.
