I truly feel like I am the king of finishing 2-1 on PrizePicks and consistently missing the third leg of any sheet by the stone-cold minimum numbers. Saturday ended up being no different- the Dodgers' hitters both rewarded our bets on them, with Shohei Ohtani and Freddie Freeman coming up clutch.
The problem was Jared Jones, who ended up getting lit up by the Reds yet still just fell 0.5 strikeouts short of hitting his mark. It really is the mantra of my 2024 season to this point, so very close, yet just out of reach. Full transparency- I want it to be known that I am right alongside anyone putting their hard-earned money on these picks, I always play along on my own suggested picks. It would not make sense for me to throw out ideas and not back them up myself.
Now we are onto Sunday and I'm tired of falling short of maximum profitability. I'm going to try to be as accurate as possible here to fire back with a 3-0 day to close out the weekend.

Best MLB PrizePicks Player Predictions
Current Overall PrizePicks Record: 65-49-4
Jackson Chourio has had a sublime rookie campaign by all accounts. Not only is he solidified in the top 3 of the NL ROY race, but he has also climbed his way to the top of the Brewers' lineup. Chourio has looked like a true professional at the plate, and his .271/.325/.469 line, 21 homers, 77 RBIs, and 21 steals should have Milwaukee fans excited about what his future holds.
On the flip side, Chourio's starting opponent on Sunday, Jordan Montgomery, has not been even close to the pitcher we saw in the 2023 MLB playoffs when he led the Texas Rangers to their first World Series. Montgomery's debut season in Arizona has resulted in a horrifying 6.23 ERA across 24 starts, and the southpaw has failed to make it into the fifth inning in any of his last five.
20-year-old Chourio should be licking his chops to face the lefty on Sunday, and it would be quite surprising for him to not reach base in multiple plate appearances. The rookie is as good of a bet as any for today's slate.
The Reds have been red hot at the plate in the first two games of their current series against Pittsburgh, scoring eight and seven runs, respectively. I am of the belief that regression hits on Sunday, particularly as they are set to face the wall of all walls in Paul Skenes.
Even with the Pirates essentially being out of the playoff hunt, Skenes still has work to do himself, as he remains neck and neck with Jackson Merrill for a shot at the NL ROY Award. It is apparent that he wants it as well, as his game has kicked up a notch over his last two outings (12.0 IP, 2 RA, 16:2 K:BB).
Skenes has also dominated the Reds in his first two career meetings with them, allowing a combined single earned run on eight hits across 12.0 innings pitched.
Jonathan India is 0-for-5 with two strikeouts against Skenes in their first five lifetime matchups. Skenes' overpowering stuff has already proved too much for India to handle, and it should be no different the third time around on Sunday afternoon.
Some sort of abnormal Space Jam-esque talent drain seems to have overtaken the formerly efficient batting eye of J.D. Martinez in the month of September. The 37-year-old veteran has been nothing but a shell of himself since the second the month began.
Martinez is an impressively bad 3-for-43 (.070) with a single extra-base hit and 12 strikeouts since the calendar flipped out of August. The Mets have already played the Phillies five times this month and Martinez has collected a single hit against them in 14 appearances.
Now on Sunday, Martinez is set to face the toughest task the Phillies have to offer in true ace Zack Wheeler. This seems like the worst odds amongst any hurlers for Martinez to be breaking out of a horrific slump against. There is no guarantee Martinez will even see the light of day in the Mets' lineup in this one, but if he does, I'm hammering the under.
