Finally. A 3-0 sweep was found last Thursday for the PrizePicks article. It has been hard to find wins at PrizePicks for whatever reason, but let’s try to buck that trend and find a few for this Wednesday, April 24. Here are three of my favorites for today’s slate.

Wednesday’s Best MLB PrizePicks Player Predictions
PrizePicks Record This Season: 10-14
Clarke Schmidt Less Than 7.5 Strikeouts
Even in a plus-matchup this line is far too inflated for Clarke Schmidt. He is under this mark in 37 of his 41 career starts. A lot of those outings came on limited pitch counts, but a career 8.70 K/9 doesn’t justify this type of line. Oakland strikes out a ton, but 11 of the 17 right-handed starters to face them have stayed under this line. Take the less than here.
Garrett Crochet More Than 6.5 Strikeouts
Garrett Crochet is coming off a couple of disappointing starts but should rebound against a Twins team that strikes out a ton. They have the fifth-highest strikeout rate (26.1%). Filtered out to left-handed pitching, they are seventh; however, that has come on the fifth-fewest plate appearances against Southpaws.
Crochet ranks in the top 91st percentile in K% and 85th in CSW% among all starters this season. He has eight or more punchouts in three of five starts. The two misses came with pitch counts of 75 and 77. As long as he reaches the 87-93 pitch count he had in those other three he should go over this mark. For what it is worth, the Twins roster has stuck out 12 times across 21 plate appearances against him.
Jon Gray More Than 5.5 Strikeouts
Another free-swinging squad is the Seattle Mariners. Their 28.2% K% is the highest rate against right-handed pitching. They’ve had their fair share of struggles against Jon Gray in the past as well. Seattle’s roster owns a 29.5% K% and .253 xwOBA across 95 plate appearances against him. If Gray has his stuff working, he should have zero qualms about finding six strikeouts against this squad.
