The National League Championship Series (NLCS) begins with the top-seeded Dodgers hosting the Mets. Both teams had two different paths to this point, but that matters once when we get to October.

New York Mets at Los Angeles Dodgers
- Leg 1: Dodgers Moneyline (-155)
- Leg 2: Mookie Betts 2+ Total Bases (+135)
- Leg 3: Jack Flaherty 6+ Strikeouts (-110)
The Mets’ fantastic playoff run continues as they defeated their National League East rival Philadelphia to get here. Although it took them until the last day of the regular season to get into the playoffs, they have been one of the hottest teams in the second half.
Everything is working for them. The pitching has been great the last few weeks, and the offense has come through at the right times. This postseason run has been filled with clutch hits, and they'll need them to beat the team with the best regular-season record.
When Kodai Senga took the mound in Game 1 in the last round, he hadn't pitched since July due to an Injury. He had one hiccup allowing a leadoff home run to Kyle Schwarber, but that was it for two innings. Don't expect him to go much longer than that, so it'll be mostly a bullpen game.
The Dodgers won two straight elimination games to advance to the NLCS. The pitching has been their weak point throughout the season, but that's what got them the 2-0 win against San Diego in Game 5. The bad news is there won't be any relief coming as Tyler Glasnow and Clayton Kershaw are confirmed out for the postseason.
The offense has had its moments. Mookie Betts hit very well and Teoscar Hernandez had a couple of great games. Shohei Ohtani started his playoffs with a bang hitting a home run in Game 1, but he was quiet after that, with two hits and an RBI.
Jack Flaherty was a big acquisition, and without some of their starters, they might need him to start two games in this series.
L.A. has momentum with shorter rest, while the Mets, from that extended day in the regular season to the Wild Card Round to the National League Division Series (NLDS), didn’t have much time off, so they may have lost some steam. For how exciting it was to advance at home, have a few days off now and travel across the country, they’ll come out stagnant.
