Brandon Pfaadt Over 4.5 Strikeouts
The Arizona Diamondbacks' starters have found success against the Texas Rangers' hitters this series. In Game 1, Zac Gallen struck out five in 5.0 innings. In Game 2, Merrill Kelly struck out nine in 7.0 innings.
Pfaadt doesn't have much history against this lineup; he's only faced these batters 19 times. The batters have gotten the best of him, recording nine hits and four home runs. But Pfaadt has been excellent in his last three starts. He's given up just two earned runs, and while that hasn't allowed him to go deeper than 5.2 innings, it has allowed him to rack up strikeouts. In his last two games, he's struck out at least seven. Even if he only goes 4.0 innings tonight, he’s still going to be right around this number.
Lourdes Gurriel Jr. Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
When Scherzer steps on the mound, the best thing to do is find a hitting prop for the other team. He allowed seven earned runs in his two starts against the Houston Astros in the ALCS. He walked three and struck out nine despite pitching just 6.2 innings in those two games combined.
Gurriel is on a seven-game hitting streak, making him the hottest batter that the Diamondbacks have. In Saturday's win, he was 2-3 with a run and RBI, a performance that is reminiscent of many others this postseason. Gurriel can hit this over in a variety of ways, making him the safest play of anyone in the Diamondbacks' lineup.
Adolis Garcia Over 7.5 Hitter Fantasy Score
We took this prop in Game 1, and Garcia absolutely delivered. He finished the game 3-4, walked once, stole a base, drove in two runs, and hit the game-winning home run. In Game 2, Garcia went cold. He ended his seven-game hitting streak with a rough 0-3 night.
But we think Garcia will get back on track tonight. He's 0-2 in his career against Pfaadt, but that is hardly enough history for us to support the pitcher. Garcia hasn't gone hitless in back-to-back games since September 5th and 6th. We need more than just a hit for Garcia to get the over, but prior to his last game, he had hit a home run in five consecutive games, and driven in at least one run in seven straight. One game is not enough to cool off this hot bat.
