Utah Jazz Moneyline (+102)
Take anything you see in the preseason with a grain of salt. That said, the Jazz looked much improved (3-1) compared to last year’s cellar-dweller. If they can carry that momentum into this game, they can take advantage of a Memphis team in rebuild mode after moving on from Ja Morant and still figuring out how to play together.
Lauri Markkanen and Jaren Jackson Jr. will lead the Jazz to an upset win over Memphis to open the season.
Minnesota Timberwolves Moneyline (+102)
I get why the Heat are favored in this game - they've got Giannis Antetokounmpo. With Bam Adebayo in the frontcourt, scoring in the paint against Miami will be hard. But that's fine for Minnesota, as Anthony Edwards and LaMelo Ball will make it rain all game long.
Both teams will have kinks to work through with all their new parts, but I imagine it will take more than one game for the Heat to get everyone on the same page. Not that Minnesota will have the answers figured out. But their offense will help them make up for any shortcomings.
Sacramento Kings Moneyline (+160)
The Kings weren’t a great team last season and aren’t expected to be fabulous this season. At the same time, expectations are not high for a rebuilding Clippers team. Sacramento has a solid veteran core in Zach LaVine, Keegan Murray and Domantas Sabonis. Injuries kept them from playing together last season, but they'll start today against an injury-ravaged Clippers team.
Los Angeles will be without Brandon Ingram, Bradley Beal, Max Strus, Jordan Miller and Yanic Konan Niederhauser. Darius Garland and Bennedict Mathurin will give Sacramento's inexperienced backcourt some trouble. But alongside Sacramento's core, the Kings have rookie Darius Acuff Jr., one of the draft’s best scoring prospects.
The Clippers’ injuries make this an incredible value play for the Kings.
