Monday’s Best NBA PrizePicks Player Predictions
PrizePicks record: 116-77-1
Mitchell Robinson More Than 12.5 Points + Rebounds
After seeing Mitchell Robinson on the floor for 30 minutes, it’s hard to see Tom Thibodeau playing him less than that. Robinson has been out for most of the season and finally returned to the team in late March. Since then he has played an average of 15.5 minutes per game, a far cry from the 29.7 minutes per game he averaged before sustaining an injury against Boston on 12/8. In those games he went over this mark in 15-of-20 games, averaging 16.4 points + rebounds per game.
With Isaiah Hartenstein on the floor, the Knicks were -13, compared to +20 when Robinson was on the hardwood. They’re going to need his assistance at all times against Joel Embiid. Plus, the Sixers have permitted the sixth-most rebounds per game to centers over the last 15 games. That coincides with when Embiid returned, so take the more than here.
Michael Porter Jr. More Than 7 Rebounds
Michael Porter Jr. continues to smash this line against the Lakers. Aaron Gordon is too busy guarding LeBron James to crash the boards, while Nikola Jokic deals with Anthony Davis, setting up Porter Jr. to clean up the glass from time to time. Dating back to last season, Porter Jr. has gone over this mark in eight out of 10 games against the Lakers. The two misses came with seven boards in each game. He is averaging 8.1 rebounds per game over this span.
Jarrett Allen More Than 11 Rebounds
This Magic/Cavs series is going to be a rock-fight. We saw it in Game 1, where the defenses shined and Cleveland won 97-83. In that game, Jarrett Allen took command of the glass with a whopping 18 rebounds. A lot of that comes down to the hard-nosed defense the Cavs play. When they are fully healthy, there’s no denying they are a top-five team in terms of defense. Orlando doesn’t have the bigs to slow Allen down in the rebounding game, so take the more than here.
