Over the past couple of postseason runs, Jayson Tatum has crushed this number. Since the 2023 playoffs, he has played 43 playoff games and cleared this mark in 32 contests, good for a 74.4% hit rate.
Tatum is averaging 10.2 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game over this time frame, so let’s ride with the trend and back him again.
This is a fairly low number for someone who will be out there for around 40 minutes. Josh Hart had 10+ points in five of the six games against Detroit in round one, averaging 11.8 points per game.
Hart cleared this number in three out of four games against the Celtics in the regular season. With all the attention on Karl-Anthony Towns and Jalen Brunson, look for Hart to sneak through and find a few buckets in Game 1.
Taking a less than play on the best player in the game is certainly not for the faint of heart, but I’m not so sure this will be a very competitive game. The Thunder are 9.5-point home favorites, and for good reason.
The Nuggets are coming off a grueling seven-game series against the Clippers, and Nikola Jokic was held under this mark in six of those games, averaging 45.7 combined points + rebounds + assists. This Thunder team isn’t half bad either. They had the best defensive Net Rating of the year and should be able to hold Jokic in check en route to a dominating Game 1 win.
