Thursday’s Best PrizePicks Player Predictions
This Season: 37-35
This line makes so little sense that I'm almost tempted to take the under. Williams has scored 14, 13, 8, and 7 in his four games this series, and there is really no reason to believe that is due for a series low tonight. While he is more of a defensive presence, the Celtics are getting success from him in this series, and he has consistently been there for them when they need an easy bucket.
Against the 76ers, his offensive numbers were not nearly as impressive as they have been against the Heat. But with a number this low, it is all about the matchup, and Williams has found something he likes.
Another player who seems due for an off night is Caleb Martin. He has scored at least 15 points in every game this series after achieving that total just three times in his first 11 games of the postseason.
He has made multiple three-pointers in each game this series and in six of his last seven games overall. The Celtics may try to find a solution for Martin, or they may just let Martin, Butler, and Gabe Vincent do what they have been doing. Even with all three of them having solid games on Tuesday, the Celtics won by 17. Look for Martin to continue shooting well.
While I'm expecting two hot hands to stay hot with my first two picks, I'm expecting Brogdon to turn things around for himself with my third. He has scored just two points in the last two games, despite playing 35 minutes. That's after scoring 19 and 13 in games one and two.
Even if he is stuck in single digits, we have to assume he will break out of this unprecedented funk a bit on Thursday. If he does, his assist and rebound numbers have been consistent enough that their combined efforts should bring him to this over.
