Tuesday’s Best NBA PrizePicks Player Predictions
This Season: 77-57-1
Normally, the focus of this type of prop would be on three-pointers made, but there is a lot of value in taking Jayson Tatum to make at least six two-pointers on Tuesday. Tatum has made at least six in all three of his games in this series, and he's made seven in two of those contests. He's shooting just 28.6% from three-point range, so he's needed to rely more upon his inside game and ability to get to the free-throw line to score in this series.
Dating back to the regular season, Tatum has made at least six two-pointers in 10 of his last 13 games. In his only regular-season game against the Magic, he shot 44.4% from deep, but he still made eight shots from inside the arc. Tatum has scored at least 36 points in back-to-back games, so there’s no doubt that he's loving this matchup. Look for him to continue to put up plenty of shots, with most of his success coming inside the arc.
Antetokounmpo has done everything he can to help his Bucks, but the team is still one loss away from their season ending. Antetokounmpo had a series-low 28 points in Sunday's 129-103 loss, but there are a few reasons to take his Over on Tuesday.
One major reason is the loss of Damian Lillard. The star player tore his Achilles tendon in Game 4, and he will miss the remainder of the postseason. Without him, the Bucks don't have anyone else who can reliably score at the same rate as Antetokounmpo.
But even if Lillard was playing, the Over would still be the right play. Antetokounmpo has scored at least 28 points in seven of his eight games against the Pacers this season, and he's scored at least 33 in five of those contests. In Sunday's loss, he only shot 45% from the field, his lowest percentage of the playoffs by over 15%, and he was still within five points of this Over. In a win-or-go-home situation, look for Antetokounmpo to continue his domination, as the Bucks rely on him even more than they usually do.
After Jokic's insane 36-point, 21-rebound game on Saturday, it may seem counterintuitive to bet against him on Tuesday. However, that massive performance was an outlier in what has still been a solid season for Jokic.
Jokic combined for 38 points and rebounds in Game 1, 37 in Game 2, and 36 in Game 3. While all of those performances are impressive, they're still well below the posted total for Tuesday's contest. Because Jokic was so impressive on Saturday, bettors are likely to get a little too excited about his potential for Game 5. And while Jokic could have another huge game, I'm not betting on anyone to score over 35 points and pull down more than 20 rebounds, even if they are one of the best players in the league. Jokic will return to his average, comfortably going under this total.
