Wednesday’s Best NBA PrizePicks Player Predictions
PrizePicks record: 118-78-1
Tyler Herro Less Than 20.5 Points
Without Jimmy Butler around, it’s up to Tyler Herro to take over for the Heat. Unfortunately for Herro, his time to shine comes against the Boston Celtics, the clear favorites to win the championship this season. They had the second-best adjusted defensive net rating on the season and had no trouble handling Herro in Game 1. He finished with just 11 points on 4-13 shooting in that game. With barely any scoring options for Miami, the Celtics will be able to zone in on Herro once again here. Plus, there’s always the threat of this becoming a blowout considering the Celtics are -14.5 home favorites.
Josh Giddey Less Than 20.5 Points+Rebounds+Assists
The Australian point guard was barely utilized in Game 1 against the Pelicans, and it’s hard to see that changing here. The Pelicans have an elite defense, one that was sixth in terms of adjusted defensive rating for the season, so even when Josh Giddey is on the floor, he will have his fair share of troubles. He finished with just seven points + rebounds + assists in Game 1.
Nikola Jovic More Than 7.5 Points
With all the attention on Herro and Adebayo, someone is going to have to score for Miami, and we’re only asking for eight points from Nikola Jovic. No Jimmy Butler leads to Jovic joining the starting five after he played 26 minutes in Game 1. Despite shooting 3-of-9 from the floor, Jovic finished with 10 points in that contest. When Butler has been out and Jovic has played 20+ minutes, he has gone over this line in 7/12 games, averaging 9.8 points per game.
