Friday’s Best NBA PrizePicks Player Predictions
PrizePicks record: 6-2
Nikola Jokic Over 20.5 Rebounds+Assists
The Joker almost always flirts with a triple-double when he’s at home. Last season he found one in 21-of-35 contests in Denver and has a triple-double in both home games so far this season. He eclipsed this particular 20.5 R+A line in 26-of-35 home games last year averaging 24.2 rebounds+assists per game. Tonight he takes on the Mavericks who just allowed the other Nikola (Vucevic) to record 20 rebounds on Wednesday.
Daniel Gafford Over 6 Rebounds
No longer on the injury report, Daniel Gafford should be able to rack up the rebounds against Miami tonight. For starters, this line is simply too low for a starting Center in the NBA. He found 11 boards across 28 minutes against Memphis a couple of days ago. The Wizards lack any big-man depth, so as long as he stays out of foul trouble, I’d expect Gafford to be on the floor for around 30 minutes. Last season without Kristaps Porzingis, he averaged 8.3 rebounds per game and eclipsed this mark in 13 of 15 games. We have seen just about every rebounding force to face the Heat exceed this number too. Jalen Duren (14), Isaiah Stewart (14), Porzingis (9), Al Horford (10), Naz Reid (8), Karl-Anthony Towns (10), Rudy Gobert (14), Bobby Portis (8), Brook Lopez (7), Giannis Antetokounmpo (7), and Ben Simmons (11), all went over this number.
Chet Holmgren Over 23.5 Points+Rebounds
The Thunder will be without the face of their team, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander tonight. That means someone is going to have to step up for OKC, and I think it’s Chet. He’s coming off a career-best 19 point, 11 rebound performance against the Hornets and should be able to replicate that facing the Warriors tonight. They have struggled against bigs so far in the year. Of the ones who have played 28+ minutes, we have seen Domantas Sabonis (34 points+rebounds), Zion Williamson (24), Alperen Sengun (24), Sabonis (37), and Jusuf Nurkic (28) all go over this mark.
