There are seven NBA games tonight, but none between teams that are both .500 or better.
How will Victor Wembanyama perform on the glass when his San Antonio Spurs take on the Charlotte Hornets? Will Brook Lopez continue his hot shooting from beyond the arc against the Atlanta Hawks? Can Nikola Jovic continue to find his teammates at a high rate when he battles the Brooklyn Nets?

Taking this less than has less to do with Victor Wembanyama's talent and matchup against the Hornets and more to do with the fact this number is too high. Wembanyama is averaging 10.9 rebounds per game and has pulled down 12 or fewer boards in 10 of his last 11 games. The only time he hit more than 12.5 rebounds during that span he grabbed 14 rebounds. While that marks a solid performance, it also shows Wembanyama's ceiling isn't very high right now.
The Hornets rank 24th in the NBA, allowing 53.1 rebounds per game. While that should mean Wembanyama goes over his season average tonight, he'll need to do so by more than two rebounds to get to 13 and hit the more than on this player prediction. Though Wembanyama has multiple 20-rebound games this season, his recent performances suggest the less than is the right play if his total is set at 12.5 or higher against anyone.
Brook Lopez has made at least three three-pointers in three of his last four games. He's averaging 1.9 per game this season. He's about to take on the team allowing the fourth-most three-pointers in the league. The Hawks have gotten much better at defending the three-point line in recent games, but that doesn't take away from the fact they're still allowing 14.3 per contest.
The biggest concern with Lopez is that he's already faced the Hawks twice this season, and he hasn't shot the ball very well in those two games. He made just three combined threes, knocking down just one of four attempts in his first meeting with the team, before going 2-for-5 in the second game. Lopez is hot right now, though, and this is a good matchup despite what his past numbers say.
Nikola Jovic is averaging just 2.9 assists per game, but he's been outstanding in the category lately. He just dished out seven assists on Wednesday against the Philadelphia 76ers. He now has at least four assists in three of his last four games.
While there is always a fear Jovic will revert to his average and finally put up a low-assist night, the Nets have been a good matchup for him this season. He has four assists in each of his games against them. Considering they rank 21st in the league in assists allowed per game, there's no reason to expect Jovic to suddenly have a worse night tonight.
