Friday’s Best NBA PrizePicks Player Predictions
PrizePicks record: 71-52-1
Onyeka Okongwu Over 22.5 Points+Rebounds+Assists
Filling in for Clint Capela at center will be none other than Onyeka Okongwu. He draws a phenomenal matchup, taking on the Joel Embiid-less 76ers, who have the worst defensive net rating over the last seven games. Without Embiid on the floor they are a mess, and opposing centers have taken advantage of them, including Okongwu himself. When these teams met on Jan. 10th both Capela and Embiid were absent, and Okongwu put up a 19/11/1 line in their sted. He should be able to replicate that sort of stat line in this one.
Tobias Harris Over 23.5 Points
Atlanta hardly plays much defense either, and they’ve particularly been gashed inside the paint throughout the year, permitting the third-most points from that region. They also play at the third-fastest pace and own the third-worst-adjusted defensive rating. Tobias Harris is well-aware and, in that game against them last month, put up 32 points. In his other meeting against them back in mid-November, he scored 29. Harris is averaging four more points per game without Embiid playing, scores roughly 55% of his points in the paint and should be able to take advantage of the Hawks once again in this matchup.
Kyle Kuzma Under 11.5 Rebounds + Assists
The fade of Kyle Kuzma didn’t work out so well on Wednesday, but I’m going right back to it with the Wizards +17 road dogs in Boston. The handicap is fairly simple here, and it’s that there’s a strong likelihood Washington gets blown out in this one. If that’s the case, it’s fair to reason that Kuzma won’t be on the floor for longer than 30 minutes. In 19 games with 30 minutes or less, he is under this mark in 15, averaging 9.1 combined rebounds and assists. The Celtics third-best adjusted defensive rating should be able to contain him and the Wizards en route to a blowout victory at home.
