Friday’s Best NBA PrizePicks Player Predictions
This Season: 24-22
This Pacers-Thunder matchup should be extremely fast-paced and high-scoring, so let’s target the Thunder’s best scorer without Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (SGA) available. Williams has gone off for 31 and 27 points in the last two games without SGA. The rookie has also faired well in the other nine games without Gilgeous-Alexander this season. He’s recorded at least 20 points in nine of 11 games overall without SGA.

Williams does most of his scoring inside the paint, and the Pacers are one of the weaker defensive teams down low. They are 23rd in opponent PITP scoring, on top of being 26th in Defensive Net Rating. Over the last two games, Williams has averaged 19 points per game inside the paint. He should feast tonight once again.

We’re targeting another rookie here with the Pistons’ first-round draft pick, Jaden Ivey. He has been a scoring machine as of late and has cleared this line in three straight, averaging 25.3 points per game. More impressively, he did this against the Raptors (20 points) and Bucks (32 points) in two of these contests. They are among some of the toughest matchups in the league.
If he can get it done against them, then he should be able to get to 20 points in his sleep against the Rockets. They are allowing the most points per game to point guards this year and have the second-worst overall Defensive Net Rating. This is listed at -155 over at DraftKings Sportsbook, so there is clearly value to be had on PrizePicks for Ivey.
Let’s wrap it up with one final young gun, , Jalen Green, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. Neither the Pistons nor the Rockets know how to defend. Detroit is also at the bottom of the barrel in terms of Defensive Net Rating, ranking 28th in the league. They have also allowed the sixth-most points per game to shooting guards.
Green has been on a bit of a tear himself as of late. He has eclipsed this line in eight of his last 14 games, averaging 23.6 points per game. No one on this Pistons team should slow him down tonight at home.
