Monday’s Best NBA PrizePicks Player Predictions
PrizePicks record: 54-42
Donovan Mitchell Over 7 Assists
The Bulls defend the guard position better than anyone else in the league. Because of this, they are also a funnel for assists and have allowed the fifth most assists to guards on the season. The last few point guards they have faced have had plenty of dishes including:
Steph Curry (9), Fred VanVleet (10). Terry Rozier (8, 7), Jalen Brunson (13), Tyrese Maxey (5, 7), Tyrese Haliburton (20), Trae Young (13), and even Craig Porter Jr. (8) when the Cavs played the Bulls last. Donovan Mitchell was absent in that contest.
Since Darius Garland’s injury, Mitchell has had six or more assists in six of eight games. The two games he finished with four assists, came when he played just 26 and 24 minutes. In theory, this game should be close enough, with a four-point spread separating the squads, so back Mitchell to find plenty of dishes in this one.
Brandon Ingram Over 18.5 Points
Look, he hasn’t been playing well as of late, but this is far too low for Brandon Ingram. The Pelicans have been involved in a lot of blowouts, attributing to his slump, and prior to this five-game stretch, Ingram had gone over this line in 24-of-30 games, averaging 23.3 points per game. He scored 20 and 25 points in his two games against Dallas back in November. As with every over bet in the NBA, as long as this doesn’t turn into a blowout again, Ingram should smash this over.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Over 31.5 Points
Sometimes you can make the analysis relatively simple. In this case, it’s the fact that when SGA plays for at least 30 minutes, he is typically going over this line. He has done so in 21-of-30 games, which equates to a 70% hit rate. Four of those misses came within a bucket of 32 as well. SGA put up 33 and 34 in two contests against the Lakers this season and as +1.5 road dogs, they’ll need to ride his scoring in order to win this one.
