Monday’s Best NBA PrizePicks Player Predictions
Jalen Green More Than 22.5 Points
Jalen Green has opened the 2024-25 campaign smoking hot except for the previous contest against Golden State, where he only managed to score seven points in 34 minutes. The defensive matchup tonight is just as daunting with the Knicks coming to town. However, we feel Green gets back to his scoring ways.
In five games, four starting shooting guards have topped 20+ points against New York on the season for an average of 25.75 points. In those contests, the Knicks allowed an average of 58.9% shooting from the field.
As tough as New York might be as a collective defensive unit, allowing only 109.0 points to opponents, the Knicks concede over 14 three-pointers per game, including 3.6 to starting shooting guards each contest at a shooting percentage of 49.8%.
The Houston guard is averaging 24.2 points on the season and has cleared 22.5 points in four out of six contests. It's not an easy task by any means. Having said that, the numbers favor Green getting the best of New York this evening.
Terry Rozier More Than 7.5 Rebounds + Assists
In what should be one of the more exciting games this evening, Terry Rozier faces a Sacramento team ranked in the top 20 amongst most assists allowed, and just outside the top 15 in regards to rebounds.
The Miami guard has only fallen short of this combined total in one of his five games, which was a 20-point routing against the Washington Wizards on Saturday. Chances are this contest will not result in such a disparity in score, allowing Rozier to be on the floor for closer to his season average of 32.6 minutes each contest - with a high of 35.
Rozier is averaging 4.6 rebounds and 4.4 assists on the season. In regards to potential per contest, the veteran guard averages 6.8 assists and 10.2 rebound opportunities.
Donovan Mitchell Less Than 3.5 Rebounds
Donovan Mitchell has been a constant source of contribution towards the current undefeated streak the Cavaliers have opened the season on. This includes a game-winning basket against Milwaukee on Saturday with only 0.3 seconds left on the clock.
As for rebounds, that hasn't exactly been the strongest suit for Mitchell. He is only averaging 2.7 rebounds on the season and has cleared 3.5 boards just once in five games.
As of Monday morning, Giannis Antetokounmpo has been designated with a questionable tag. There is some concern he may miss this contest with a groin injury. This would open up a few extra defensive rebounds. However, Antetokounmpo has yet to miss a game this season. Until the team confirms his status, we are assuming he will play tonight.
Cleveland leads the league in field-goal percentage with 52.6% per contest. Milwaukee ranks just outside the top 10 at 47.3%. These teams just played each other on Saturday, both connecting on 48% of their field goal attempts.
Christian Braun More Than 17.5 Points + Rebounds
Christian Braun has taken on an increased role this season and has performed quite admirably over the first six contests. With Kentavious Caldwell-Pope leaving for Orlando in free agency, Braun is getting the opportunity to show he deserves a starting spot in the NBA. The Denver Nuggets will also be without Jamal Murray this evening, which should open the door even further for more opportunities.
Over the first six games, Braun is averaging 14.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. The Denver guard has played at least 33 minutes in each game this season and owns an outstanding 52.5% field-goal shooting rate.
Braun faces a Toronto team this evening allowing a league-leading 125.6 points per game to opponents. In their last contest against Denver, the Raptors conceded 127 points in an overtime loss.
The Denver guard has cleared 17.5 points + rebounds in five out of six games this season. Due to the suggested increase in usage, Braun looks to be in a prime spot to once again exceed this threshold.
Chris Paul More Than 10.5 Points
Chris Paul is thriving as a floor general for the youthful San Antonio Spurs. Not only has his experience and intelligence been on full display, but the veteran point guard has also been scoring buckets at an efficient rate.
Paul has surpassed 10.5 points in four out of six games; including scoring 14+ in the last four contests. He has not shot under 50% from the field in four straight games.
The minutes have also picked up over the last two contests, increasing his season average by over three minutes. Not only has Paul experienced extra time on the floor lately, but he has also attempted at least nine shots in the last four games.
Over that span, he has four attempts or more from beyond the arc, while making an average of three in each contest.
Enjoy the games tonight and best of luck tonight. Don't forget to vote tomorrow.
