He was held in check in Game 1, hence the lower line, but this is a matchup that Cade should be able to exploit. The Knicks have the worst pick-and-roll defense in the game, allowing the fifth most points to opposing Point Guards. Cunningham put up 22, 29, 36, and 36 points against the Knicks in the regular season and will be on the floor the whole game as the Pistons try to steal a game on the road.
The Clippers will need Zubac on the floor to defend Jokic, as evident from his 39 minutes in Game 1. He racked up 13 boards on 21 rebound chances in that game, the third time he has found at least 13 rebounds against Denver this year.
Detroit’s young big man is overmatched playing against the Knicks. That makes him normal, considering they have permitted the third-fewest points and fewest rebounds to opposing Centers this season. Duren put up just 13 points + rebounds in Game 1, and had 12, 15, 18, and 31 PR in his four other meetings with the Knicks in the regular season.
