Thursday’s Best NBA PrizePicks Player Predictions
This Season: 32-42
Poole is in a terrible slump heading into Thursday's game against the Utah Jazz. He's 3-of-18 in his past two games and just 2-of-8 from deep during that span. Because of his terrible shooting, Poole has scored a combined 11 points in his last two games.
But this is a player averaging 16.5 points per game this season. Tonight, he faces the team allowing the eighth-most points per game this season. Poole has averaged at least 17.1 points per game in every month of this NBA season. This month he's averaging just 14.5. But it's not just averages that point us to his over tonight. He's also facing a weak defensive team that allows 14.2 three-pointers per game.
White was 4-of-5 from beyond the arc in Monday's game against the Phoenix Suns. Before that performance, he went four consecutive games with one or fewer makes from deep. But White is averaging 2.8 made three-pointers per game, and we believe that his performance tonight will be more similar to his game against the Suns' than his previous four contests.
In one game against the Los Angeles Lakers this season, White made three three-pointers. Nothing indicates he shouldn't replicate that performance tonight. The Lakers are allowing the third-most three-pointers per game this season. Their defense ranks 19th in opponent three-point shooting percentage. As long as White isn't missing wide-open looks tonight, he should easily clear this number.
Barnes exploded for 32 points in the Sacramento Kings' 122-107 win over the Atlanta Hawks on Monday. It marked his second 30-point game of the season and was only his third time scoring more than 20 in a contest this year. Considering he scored fewer than 10 points in five of his past seven, bettors may be inclined to take his under after a huge performance.
However, we like Barnes to go over again tonight. He was in a really bad slump and was struggling to get involved in the offense throughout the majority of January. But that has not been the norm for him this season. He's averaging 11.1 points per game and has gone over that number in just four games this month. Barnes won't perform like he did on Monday, but he's going to have a solid game tonight.
