Now in the starting lineup, Malik Monk has been on an absolute tear since returning from injury. Over his last four games, he has combined for 36, 37, 25 and 29 points + assists. Those two games in the 30s were without DeMar DeRozan, but the sentiment remains.
Monk is averaging nearly 15 potential assists in these contests. With a 244.5 total, this game has the highest total on the board, and figures to be a fast-paced contest with the Grizzlies involved. They are second in pace on the season.
Jarrett Allen has failed to eclipse this line in three straight, but this is a matchup for him to get back on track. The Nuggets have permitted the third-most points in the paint this season, where Allen does all his dirty work. The Cavaliers big man hit the more than on this line in 69% of games last season, averaging 16.5 points per game. He has hit it in 59% of games this year, averaging 14 per contest.
Filter that out to games he has played 27+ minutes and it gets bumped up to a 67% hit rate across 15 games, more in line with his rate from last year. This game figures to be competitive with a four-point spread separating the teams and featuring a 237.5 total, the second-highest of the night. Allen posted 15 and 19 points against Denver last season.
Squaring off with the Bulls is as good as it gets on offense. They are first in pace and rank 28th in adjusted defensive net rating. The Spurs will be without phenom Victor Wembanyama, so Devin Vassell figures to be the one to pick up most of the slack in the scoring department.
Vassell is coming off a season-best 25-point performance against the Suns and is averaging roughly 18 points per game on the year.
