Davis is questionable for tonight's game with an Achilles injury. However, if he plays, this is a solid matchup for him. Davis has pulled down double-digit rebounds in each of his last seven games in which he played at least 30 minutes. If there is one area tonight in which the Lakers have a clear advantage over the Celtics, it's on the boards.
The Celtics are allowing 52.1 rebounds per game, ranking them 19th in the league. The Lakers rank 12th in the same category. Because both teams rank in the top-15 in the league by opponent shooting percentage, there will be plenty of rebounds in this game. Davis has been averaging over 12 rebounds per game, so he will go above his season average tonight if he plays.
Fading the Lakers' three-point defense is going to work more often than not. While there is always the chance that White struggles to get his fair share of shots in this loaded offense, he's been attempting plenty as of late. He's attempted at least seven shots from beyond the arc in seven of his last eight games, and he made at least three of those shots in six of the eight contests.
White has knocked down four three-pointers in back-to-back games. If that number goes down tonight, it will be pretty shocking, considering he's facing a team that allows the most points from deep in the league. With that in mind, take White to go slightly over his season average, especially since he's shooting well right now.
The last time these two teams played, Hartenstein scored just two points in 33 minutes. It was a very disappointing performance, especially considering the Indiana Pacers are the worst team in the league at defending the paint. Yet, even after that terrible performance, oddsmakers still expect him to have a solid game tonight.
Hartenstein has scored double-digits in back-to-back games against the Utah Jazz and Charlotte Hornets. In one of those games, he only played 16 minutes. As long as he plays at least 20 minutes tonight, he should hit this number. He doesn't take a lot of shots per game. However, there is a clear mismatch down low tonight. Since the New York Knicks didn't take advantage of that in their last game against the Pacers and lost, we expect them to take a different approach tonight.
