Here are three of my favorite player predictions via PrizePicks for Thursday, February 20th.
San Antonio’s rookie guard has come around over the past month. Stephon Castle has 15+ points in 11 of his last 15 games, averaging 18.1 points per game. Since De’Aaron Fox joined the team, that is a hit rate of four out of five, averaging 19 points per game. Victor Wembanyama is doubtful to play tonight, too, so fire Castle up to score at least 15 in this one, taking on a Suns team ranked 25th in defensive Net rating.
Onyeka Okongwu is in the starting five now that Jalen Johnson is done for the year, but is still hardly exceeding this line and he draws a difficult matchup. Without Johnson and with Clint Capela available, Okongwu has failed to eclipse this mark in seven out of 10 games, averaging 22.3 points + rebounds + assists per game.
Orlando is third in defensive Net rating, plays at the second-slowest pace, and allows the third-fewest points in the paint and second-fewest rebounds to their opponents. Atlanta recently faced the Magic on the 10th of this month without Capela - Okongwu finished with 18 combined points + rebounds + assists.
The newly acquired 76er has seen plenty of time on the floor and turned that into some solid production. The most recent game was without the Philly “Big 3” and Quentin Grimes put up a combined 43 points + rebounds + assists.
Grimes played 28, 31 and 36 minutes in the previous three contests before that, racking up 18, 22 and 24 combined points + rebounds + assists, respectively, in those games. Philly welcomes Boston into town tonight. The Celtics will be far more concerned with dealing with Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid and Paul George, so Grimes should get some open looks and find his way to hitting the more than on this number once again.
