Thursday’s Best NBA PrizePicks Player Predictions
This Season: 59-64
Murray exploded for a season-high 15 assists in the Hawks’ win over the Celtics on Monday. Yet, he's only averaging 6.2 assists per game this season, which is a large part of the reason why this total sits at just 8.5 tonight.
Last night, Murray recorded just seven assists, ending a streak of five consecutive games with at least 10. Tonight, in what is a tough matchup despite Monday's numbers, Murray should fail to hit 10 assists again. With a defense allowing the sixth-fewest assists per game, he likely won't even hit nine.
Tatum scored 37 points in the Celtics’ 120-118 loss on Monday. He shot just 28.6% from deep, but he was 50% from the field and 9-of-11 from the free throw line. He's now scored at least 26 points in eight consecutive games and 12 of his last 13.
With how the Celtics lost on Monday, it's safe to assume that they're never going to take their foot off the gas tonight. If that's the case, then Tatum should easily top this as the team’s leading scorer. He's averaging 27.3 points per game, and this is not a situation in which he should go under that number.
McCollum is attempting an average of 8.1 three-pointers per game this season. As a 41.7% shooter, he's averaging 3.4 makes as well. He's knocked down at least four three-pointers in three consecutive games, and he's made at least three in six straight.
However, in his one game against the Bucks this season, McCollum was just 1-of-4 from deep. The Bucks have the eighth-best three-point shooting defense in the NBA, so even if he shoots better tonight, he'll need a lot of attempts to hit this over. Though he has attempted at least nine threes in three consecutive games, that number will be lower tonight. And as his attempts go down, so will his makes.
