Tuesday’s Best NBA PrizePicks Player Predictions
PrizePicks record: 7-13
After a hot start to the season, Wagner has struggled from deep of late. He made at least two three-pointers in his first five games, but since then he's made two or more from beyond the arc in just three of eight games. In his last performance, he played just 22 minutes and went 0-2 from deep.
Tonight, we expect to see Wagner play closer to his usual 32.8 minutes. Despite playing his average minutes, it can still be hard to trust Wagner, as he has attempted four or fewer from beyond the arc in five of his last eight games. But against a team that is middle of the pack defending the arc, he should attempt closer to his season average of 5.5 in this game. In every game where he's attempted more than four three-pointers, he's made at least two.
Turner has recorded one steal in three consecutive games to bring his season average to 0.6 per contest. Tonight, he faces the Hawks, one of the NBA's worst teams when it comes to turning the ball over. They average 15.4 per game.
The Indiana Pacers give up a lot of points in the paint. They're allowing a league-worst 62.7 per game. The Hawks are going to try to exploit that matchup and dump the ball down to their big men all game. That’s going to give Turner plenty of opportunities to record a steal for the fourth consecutive game.
George went 3-6 from beyond the arc on Friday. It was the first time this season that he made more than two three-pointers in a game. He followed up that performance with a 0-5 night from deep Sunday against the Phoenix Suns.
George is averaging just 1.3 made three-pointers per game, and he's made one or fewer in nine of his 13. The Los Angeles Lakers are just outside the bottom-10 in opponents' three-point shooting percentage. But even against an average three-point defending team, you have to play the averages. George is not the type of player guaranteed to succeed against weak defenses. And with a ceiling of just three made shots, his under is the right play.
