Wednesday’s Best NBA PrizePicks Bets
Here are the best PrizePicks plays for NBA action on Wednesday, March 8.
The Celtics continue to be a pass funnel for playmakers as of late, and until the trend ends, it’ll be a feature play for these articles. Here’s a log of the last 14 assist artists to face them:
- Darius Garland – 12
- Immanuel Quickley – 7
- Spencer Dinwiddie – 8
- Darius Garland – 9
- Jalen Brunson – 3
- James Harden - 8
- Tyrese Haliburton - 14
- Killian Hayes - 9
- Jrue Holiday - 7
- Ja Morant - 7
- LaMelo Ball - 10
- James Harden - 11
- Killian Hayes - 9
- Chris Paul - 8
Add that all up, and we’re looking at 13 of the last 14 facilitators to record at least 7 assists. This trend has coincided with the Celtics not playing their best brand of basketball, as they are 18th in Defensive Net Rating over their last 10 games.
Dame has recorded at least six assists in eight of his last 10 games, averaging 7 APG over this span. For what it is worth, he has also eclipsed this mark in eight of his last nine games, averaging 9.6 APG when facing the Celtics.
Spicy P has admittedly been on a bit of a cold stretch as of late and has stayed under this in four consecutive outings; however, the larger sample size of the season outweighs these recent struggles. He is averaging 24.7 points per game and plays a league-high 37.5 minutes per game on the year. When he has seen at least 32 minutes, he has cleared this in 35/51 (69%).
This mini-slump is coming to an end tonight because he faces the Clippers, who have been dismantled regularly by Power Forwards. They’re allowing the 2nd most points to the position on the year, most over the last 30 games, and 4th most over the last 15. Siakam put up a whopping 36 points when he faced the Clippers earlier this season.
Following the Russell Westbrook acquisition, the Clippers have seen a big downturn on defense and are 28th in Defensive Net Rating over their last six contests. Their rate of play has also increased significantly, and they are 4th in Pace across this small sample. All in all, this looks like a great bounce-back spot for Pascal Siakam.
We now have a 12-game sample size of the Mavericks since Kyrie joined the squad. Over this span, Dallas has seen their defensive efficiency slip to 6th worst in terms of Defensive Net Rating. They just played last night as well, so fatigue could be a factor tonight as well.
The leading scorer of the Jazz, Lauri Markannen, scored 33 against them last night. We’ve seen plenty of other top scorers off against them as of late as well:
- Kevin Durant – 37 & Devin Booker 36
- James Harden – 27, Tyrese Maxey – 29, and Joel Embiid – 35
- Tyrese Haliburton – 32 & Myles Turner – 24
- LeBron James – 26 & Anthony Davis – 30
- Malaki Branham – 23 & Keldon Johnson – 22
- Michael Porter Jr – 22
- Anthony Edwards – 32
- De’Aaron Fox – 36 & 33
- Paul George – 20 & Norm Powell – 24
- Jordan Clarkson – 26
Prior to the blockbuster trade, Brandon Ingram actually scored 26 against the Mavericks. Since that game, he has managed to put up 25+ points in nine of his last 12 games averaging 28 PPG.
