Atlanta Hawks at Boston Celtics
- Leg 1: Celtics -6.5 (-105)
- Leg 2: Derrick White 3+ Three-Pointers Made (-138)
- Leg 3: Hawks Alt Team Total Under 114.5 Points (-146)
The Celtics have excelled against a favorable schedule in recent weeks. Of their last seven games, five have been against teams under .500, and they are 5-2 in that span. It's the blend of a tough defense ranked second in points allowed per game (109.9) and volume shooting with 91.4 field-goal attempts per game (second).
They matched that field-goal total with 91 attempts during the January 17th matchup against Atlanta, shooting an excellent 50.5% from the floor. They scored 132 points in that game, the team's fifth-highest points total this season. Those points were buoyed by 22 three-pointers made - the second-most made threes of the season.
Three-point defense is a weakness of the Hawks as they are allowing 19.4 threes per game (21st). The Hawks aren't doing many things well, and with the trade of Trae Young, this is a team in transition. The Celtics comfortably rolled to a 26-point win in their last matchup and could have another runaway win tonight.

Minnesota Timberwolves at Dallas Mavericks
- Leg 1: Mavericks +6.5 (-108)
- Leg 2: Cooper Flagg 21+ Points (-138)
- Leg 3: Anthony Edwards Under 30.5 Points (-112)
The Timberwolves are in the middle of a brutal stretch, as they just snapped a five-game losing streak with a win over a Warriors team without Steph Curry and Jimmy Butler on Monday. Defensively, they have struggled during this recent run, allowing 120+ points in three of the five games. This is usually a defense that neutralizes the paint very well, ranking fourth in opponent field-goal rate within five feet (60.9%). Still, two-time Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert is allowing his opponents to outscore Minnesota in the paint in two of the last three games.
While the Timberwolves are struggling, the Mavericks look like they are ascending, coming into this game winners of five of their last seven. The most significant improvement comes from star rookie Cooper Flagg, who is living up to the hype. Even with teams knowing he is a focal point in the offense, he’s excelling. In his first 19 games, Flagg averaged 15.7 points per game; in his last 23 games, he’s averaging 21.2 points per game.
This could be a case of the Timberwolves looking ahead to Thursday’s matchup against the Thunder. Do not be surprised if Minnesota’s starters don't suit up or play limited minutes, which could keep this game close.
