Phoenix Suns at Oklahoma City Thunder
- Leg 1: Suns +14.5 (-110)
- Leg 2: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander 40+ Points + Rebounds + Assists (-185)
- Leg 3: Devin Booker 22+ Points (-104)
The Thunder are not only trying to be the best team in the NBA this season, but the best of all time. They are still slightly off the 2015-16 Warriors' pace, who were perfect through 24 games, but at 23-1, Oklahoma City is right there.
They are one of the most balanced teams in the league as they rank second in points scored (123.5) and lead in points allowed (106.3) per game. What they do so well is adjust to whether the game could be a defensive or offensive battle by controlling the pace of the matchup.
The big question for the Suns coming into this game is whether they will have their full lineup. Devin Booker has missed the last two games with a groin injury, but head coach Jordan Ott says he could be back for this matchup. Booker is Phoenix’s offensive catalyst since trading Kevin Durant in the offseason, leading the team with 25 points per game.
Oklahoma City is great at winning, but not covering. That includes the last game against the Suns, when they let a double-digit lead slip away, as Phoenix lost by four and covered the spread.

San Antonio Spurs at Los Angeles Lakers
- Leg 1: Lakers -7.5 (-110)
- Leg 2: De’Aaron Fox 24+ Points (-113)
- Leg 3: LeBron James 7+ Assists (-128)
There hasn't been much of a setback for the Spurs without Victor Wembanyama, as they are 8-3 without him. It has a lot to do with how well this backcourt is playing, featuring De'Aaron Fox, Devin Vassell and Stephon Castle, who they just got back into the lineup.
Having a smaller lineup is making them a faster team; with Wembanyama in the lineup, they were 27th in pace of play (98.7); since his absence, they are 14th (101). They miss his defensive presence, as it's taken a considerable dip. The team was second (108.2) when he was on the court, but it's 19th (116.6) since being sidelined.
The Lakers do well at controlling the pace of the game. They are one of the league’s slowest offensive teams, averaging 14.7 seconds per possession (23rd), while limiting opponents to 14.1 seconds (eighth). With a slower approach, they get the best shot opportunities, ranking third in effective field goal rate (57.9%). This is achieved by attacking the inside and drawing fouls. They rank fourth in free throws attempted per game (28.3).
The Lakers were able to get a win earlier in the year without LeBron James and when the Spurs had Wembanyama, so this situation today looks good.
