New Orleans Saints vs. Philadelphia Eagles Odds and Game Pick (2021)

by November 20, 2021
Jalen Hurts

The New Orlean Saints have been in a slump lately, and they have lost their last two games by a total of four points. These two losses are the cherry on top for the Saints’ up and down season. They have beaten some of the best teams in the NFL, including the Packers, Seahawks, and Buccaneers. They have also lost to some of the worst teams in the NFL, including the Giants and the Falcons. Although things have been up and down in the win column, the Saints’ offense can at least score points. The Philadelphia Eagles find themselves in roughly the same spot — they have struggled to win games, but their offense has been able to score points.

Overview

New Orleans has been as consistent on offense as it gets. Besides two of their games, the Saints have scored over 21 points in every game this season. Even though the Saints have been using three quarterbacks, they have been able to find the endzone consistently. Averaging 25 points per game, the Saints rank 13th in scoring. Defensively, the Saints are an average team. They are giving up an average of 20 points per game to their opponents, and in the last three games, this figure has soared to 25 per game. The Saints have hit the over in five out of their six most recent games.

The Eagles are playing well on offense this year. They average 26 points per game and rank 11th in scoring. The Eagles have scored over 21 points in their last eight games. Defensively, the Eagles have been a below-average team. They give up an average of 24 points per game. When not playing the bottom ten offensive teams, the Eagles give up an average of 31 points per game. That’s important since the Saints rank 13th in scoring. This matchup has gone over five out of the last six times these two teams have met.

Bottom Line

History tells us that over is a great play. The numbers add up, too. These teams are averaging a combined 47 points per game on offense. On defense, these teams combine to allow 44 points per game. The line has been moving a lot since it opened, which means there is value in betting the opposite direction. The line opened at 48, and now it’s at 43. With all the line movement, teasing the line further down only helps us more. There is value on betting the over in this matchup. Take the value when betting on this game.

Pick: Teaser: Over 40 (-165)
