NFL Monday Night Football Anytime & First TD Scorers: Cowboys vs. Eagles
Odds via DraftKings Sportsbook
Dallas Cowboys First TD Scorer: Javonte Williams (+215)
Many expected the Cowboys to have a high-powered scoring offense this season. However, they rank 12th in the league, averaging 25.2 points per game, scoring 16 or fewer in back-to-back contests. Yet, Williams has had no trouble finding the end zone. The former North Carolina star has seven rushing touchdowns, the second-most in the NFL. He has had two or more touchdowns in more games this year (two) than contests without finding the end zone (one).
Therefore, more aggressive bettors should back Williams to score twice on Monday at +310. Furthermore, he has six rushing touchdowns over the past four weeks, scoring at least once in every contest. More importantly, the veteran has scored the first Dallas touchdown in four straight outings, as the team leans on him early in games. Meanwhile, the Eagles have surrendered eight rushing touchdowns this season. Three of those touchdowns were the first touchdown for the Cowboys' opponent.
Philadelphia Eagles First TD Scorer: Saquon Barkley (+250)
Injuries have crushed the Eagles' offense this year. Jalen Hurts is out for the season with blood clots, while several other offensive starters have missed time. Thankfully, Barkley is expected to play Monday night after missing the past two games with a hamstring injury. However, if he doesn't play, bettors should pivot to Dameon Pierce to score the first Eagles touchdown. Surprisingly, Barkley hasn't scored a touchdown in 2026 after totaling 24 over the previous two years.
However, Monday night's matchup against the Cowboys is the perfect time for the star running back to find the end zone. He scored in last season's matchup against the division rivals in Philadelphia. More importantly, Dallas has surrendered seven touchdowns to opposing running backs, including five on the ground despite barely facing any meaningful rushing attack. Furthermore, three of those touchdowns have been the first score of the game for the Cowboys’ opponents, including Bucky Irving in Week 5.
Anytime TD Scorer: Ryan Flournoy (+390)
Betting on CeeDee Lamb (+120) or George Pickens (+160) to score an anytime touchdown would be a safer pick. Yet, I have a feeling Flournoy will make a trip to the end zone on Monday night. The veteran has as many receiving touchdowns as Pickens this year (one). Furthermore, Flournoy has seen an uptick in volume lately, earning eight or more targets in two of the past four games, including nine last week, when he scored a touchdown.
Philadelphia has surrendered six receiving touchdowns to wide receivers this season, the ninth-most in the NFL. More importantly, five of those receiving touchdowns have been by slot receivers, the most in the league. Furthermore, the Eagles have given up two receiving touchdowns to slot receivers in two games this year, including two weeks ago. Meanwhile, Flournoy has run a team-high 104 routes from the slot this season. Last week, his touchdown came when he was lined up in the slot.
Anytime TD Scorer: Darius Cooper (+400)
Unfortunately, Philadelphia will not have DeVonta Smith because of an ongoing hamstring injury. The star wide receiver played in Week 6 after missing two games with the injury but didn't practice on Thursday or Friday. Therefore, Cooper is a sneaky pick to find the end zone on Monday against Dallas. The second-year pro had zero receiving touchdowns on nine receptions as a rookie. However, he had a team-high four receiving touchdowns this year on only eight receptions.
Furthermore, Cooper was the Eagles' top wide receiver with Smith out of the lineup. He had 10 targets and three receiving touchdowns during the two weeks the former Alabama star missed with the hamstring injury, including a two-score game against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 4. Meanwhile, the Cowboys have surrendered six receiving touchdowns to wide receivers, the ninth-most in the NFL. More aggressive bettors should back Cooper to score twice at +3000.
