Monday Night Football’s Best PrizePicks Predictions
It's time to put faith in Jacobs one last time. The 2022 NFL rushing leader is off to a terrible start in 2022. He has yet to rush for 65 yards in a game, despite carrying the ball at least 17 times in three of his four contests.
Yet, we're putting our faith in him tonight because of how bad the Packers' run defense has been. They're allowing 155.3 rushing yards per game, and they've allowed three different teams to run for over 200 yards against them. With the volume of carries that Jacobs gets, he should see a season-high against this porous defense tonight.
We expect this to be a run-heavy game on both sides, so we're also going to support Jones' rushing total tonight. Jones is listed as questionable with a hamstring injury but after he played in Week 4, we expect to see him on the field against the Raiders.
If Jones suits up, he's in line for a big night. The Raiders are allowing 134.3 rushing yards per game, and they allowed 155 to the Los Angeles Chargers last week with Austin Ekeler sitting out.
Jones' numbers in his two games played haven't been good. He only had nine carries before leaving in Week 1, and the Detroit Lions took him out of the game script by building a huge lead in Week 4. But we expect this to be a closer game tonight, which means Jones is going to finally rack up double-digit carries. If he does, he's going to feast against a defense allowing 4.3 yards per attempt.
To further affirm our belief that this will be a running game, we're taking Garoppolo under 239.5 passing yards. The quarterback missed last week's game with a concussion, but is at full health tonight against the Packers.
However, even at full health, Garoppolo isn't the type of quarterback who throws for a lot of yards. He has two games of 200 yards or fewer this season, and while he did throw for 324 yards against the Pittsburgh Steelers, it took him 44 passing attempts to hit that number. That was the highest passing attempts he’s made in a game since 2019.
The Raiders will have a mismatch in the rushing attack, so we expect Garoppolo to take a back seat in the game plan tonight. Also, his team should be able to keep this close throughout, so he won't be forced to play catch-up like he did in his huge Week 3 game.
